    I think you mean Iranian-American, and yes he seems to be a great new talent.

    Nope. I meant American.

    He was born in Winston-Salem, NC. According to the law, he's an American. No need to hyphenate. It's superfluous, but if you insist, then yes, along with being an American, he is of Iranian descent.
