Renato, I don't think it's so much them downplaying the homosexuality as it is them up-playing the stars. I mean for the majority of film goers [me example, not gay] I'm looking for Moore and Firth. And I think the design is smart. Julianne is looking longingly at him, but he's obviously not interested.
I actually think this is a beautiful poster, but this thought occured to me after I heard this talk, and makes some sense since the trailer released by the Weinsteins (different than the one released by Tom Ford's company) reduced the homossexuality somewhat, and that every poster, image or ad or smiliar promotional vehicle makes a bigger use of Firth and Moore, which it's to be expected, but they keep avoiding actually adressing the theme of the film.
Like I said, beautiful design, beautiful poster, but after I heard these rumors, I can't help but wonder when exactly is it that they are going to show some of the other men (or at least suggest in any way possible what the film is about)?
The anticipation builds (for me at least).
