I like it a lot. Though I can't help but feel like red was a poor choice for the title. It blends into the water too much and it's slightly harder to read, therefore slightly less likely to jump out at whoever sees it. You're slacking, WB.
That may be on purpose though. It may have some artistic reason relating to the plot, what that could be I have no idea.
But we do learn a little from this poster, mostly from the tagline. There is a crime, so DiCaprio must either be a detective, the perpetrator, or the perpetrated (if thats a word).
That tagline was used in the teaser that came out quite some time ago. I kinda agree that Inception seems to be put in the background a bit by the water. Then we have The Dark Knight in bold print right below as if they are pushing that more than the actual title.
I was sent a pretty detailed outline of the movie by someone who either had read the script or was getting good information on it (it was the same stuff, more or less, that some sites reported earlier in the year, that I chose not to post)...it's pretty spoiler-filled stuff, but suffice to say, Leo is not a cop, but there is a crime involved. I'm being vague on purpose.
Thoughts? (Yes, it's obviously working off of the format for 'The Dark Knight', but it's a winning formula, so why not?)
Hey, Warner Bros. is going with what it knows. Still excited to see it; easily my most anticipated film of 2010.
