I agree that Evan Rachel Wood looks most-likely for a nomination, but Patricia Clarkson could also be magnificent. The trailer didn't show much of her.
now, as someone who has yet to find a Woody Allen movie that he didn't like to some degree (for the record, the weakest of his career to me is The Curse of the Jade Scorpion), I'd actually defend Cassandra's Dream as a decent thriller, albeit a somewhat remake of Match Point...Scoop I have no defense for, I liked it, almost everyone else didn't
You are not alone Joey, I feel the same way about Woody. I have yet to see a movie of his I didn't like. Most of them I love. I really liked Scoop, as well as Cassandra's Dream (Colin Farrell was excellent). The worst in my opinion is Anything Else, which still has its moments.
Patricia Clarkson has gotten the nomination she deserves, she should get the win she deserves (a response to someone who didn't realize she has already been nominated, I guess) Looks great, hope it gets to Oscar night.
love it!
ReplyDeleteBy this trailer I say Evan Rachel Wood looks most likely to pull a Mira Sorvino-esque nomination. Probably more likely than Patricia Clarkson.
ReplyDeletebest woody movie set in new york in a decade!
ReplyDeletei laughed a bunch, that sells me

I'm hoping Pat Clarkson will finally get the nomination that she's always deserved.
ReplyDeletethis could have some potential...it looks like old school Woody, in a good way
ReplyDeleteWoody is back!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this!!!! loved the talking to the camera.
ReplyDeleteWoody never left, sir!!!

why is every decent Woody Allen moovie a return to form?
ReplyDeleteBecause for every Match Point and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, there's a Scoop and a Cassandra's Dream. He seems to be reinventing himself every year.
ReplyDeleteThis looks good to me, and I love Larry David, so I'd be down to watch it.

ReplyDeleteI happen to also think that scoop was quite good.
