I'm really looking forward to this film, which is something I thought I'd never say about a Gus Van Sant film. Every performer in this film looks to be top notch. This is seriously on my list of most anticipated releases.
Looks like its going to tackle the more political side of homosexuality and gay rights. I'm not sure that will sit well with the Academy. If they couldn't even stomach Brokeback Mountain, which was about love, and didn't take a political approach at all, then I'm not sure how well they're going to respond to something with obvious socio-political implications.
That being said, I do want to see it, mostly because it looks like it is really going to speak to my views on gay rights.
Looks great. I'm getting great vibes performance-wise from Sean Penn and Josh Brolin. I'm also excited to see what James Franco can do after Pineapple Express.
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

The film looks fantastic. I hope Josh Brolin can get some love for his role. He deserves it from last year's great performances.

ReplyDeleteJust because Brokeback didn't win BP doesn't mean the academy didn't like it. It got nominated up the wazoo.
