-I like the look of it a lot, and aside from the narrator, have high hopes for it. Also, call it a hunch, but I think Paul Schneider might steal the show....thoughts?

I think this film just looks so mediocre...nothing shines and nothing really hurts it besides as you mention the narration.

Looks beautiful. Can't wait for it. Abbie Cornish's performance in The Golden Age was quite compelling, and I find I like to watch her work, even in this trailer.
ReplyDeleteAgree about the lousy narrator, and I definitely think Paul Schneider should start generating Best Supporting Actor buzz. As for the rest of the film, it looks nice, but nothing particularly new or overwhelming. Suffice to say I doubt too many people will be trampling babies underfoot to check it out opening night.
ReplyDeletethe narration really was a bad idea
ReplyDeleteI totally disagree about the narration. Campion did the same thing with The PIano it was turned out beautifully. I think voice over gets a bad wrap b/c people find it condescending to the audience, but it's been well-done before (Little Children, The Piano) and Campion is such a great writer that I think she'll pull it off.
