Check out the nominees.

  1. Love the video announcement. Makes it feel like Oscar morning all over again. As for the nominees, I'm saddened by a Last Samurai shut-out, but oh well. 21 Grams also made a much stronger showing than I had anticipated. Looking forward to voting.

  2. I too was surprised by The Last Samurai shut out. The Lord of the Rings missing in Adapted Screenplay was a miss as well but you guys seemed to make up for it with a double cast nomination for Sean Astin and Viggo.

  4. Kind of dissapointed because ScarJo wasnt in the nominees. That was one of the best years of her career so far.

Really glad for LOTR, Kill Bill (although where is Uma?) and City of God.

  5. Scarlett Johansson & Uma were both nominated. We said their names. Are confusing the nominees with the DAVIS awards?

  6. They both got nominated...check again.

  7. I'm confused... The list posted on the site does not have the same nominees.

Which are the real ones ?

  8. The video is the ACCA nominations, the list is Clayton's personal nominations (The Davis Awards). Watch the video for the nominees for the 2003 Awards Circuit Community Awards...

  9. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Best Picture nominees.

All 5 are films in my DVD collection that overtime proved to be lasting classic. Have no idea how to pick between them to vote.

Nice touch on the video announcement. Good spot of fun!
Also nice to see Sean get his nod here for the horrific Oscar snub.

Overall my fav ACCA nominations of every season done.

  10. Oh thanks for making it clear for me. The only thing that i didnt really get was teh snub for LOTR in screenplat. It was a great screeplay... Also Finding Nemo snubbed in screenplay, didnt like that although that Best Picture nom was a huge compensation. All PIXAR films (except maybe Cars) are films for the ages, i think.

  11. No worries.

And the ACCA's always provide a surprise or two...

  12. I too am saddened by the shutting out of The Last Samurai (my personal favorite film of that year), but overall I like what you all came up with. Glad you like the video!

  13. Indeed, and I second Myles on that.

We seem to have a new feature to keep up with...and we'll work on our theatrical voices!

  14. Are you guys going to do your Top 10's of 2003? I always enjoy looking at those.

  15. You won't have to wait long for them (Clay already has all of ours, and can post them anytime this week), I promise you...

  16. I really liked the video, good choice guys. These nominations are always fun.

This was a good experiment to see if anything could actually make it as a write in candidate. If the Lord of The Rings and Finding Nemo can't get nominated I don't know what can. I wonder what wouldn't have made the cut for adapted screenplay if The Lord of The Rings was on the lsit. My guess is American Splendor.

  17. I really liked the nominees especially the love for Big Fish my personal all time favorite movie^^. It was sad not to see it at the Best Picture race but hey Fiding Nemo being my favorite Pixar movie made up for that abscense^^. I hope most people got over the LOTR's buzz and will watch it without over hypeing it like the Oscars did. That was just boring.

  19. Robbie, thanks for the kind words, and one of the ACCA's had a write in make it. I don't remember which one, but Clayton does I'm sure. It doesn't happen often, but it has happened before.
