Is Leonardo DiCaprio going to be J. Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood's upcoming biopic?
Well apparently Deadline (in this article here) believes that he's in negotiations for the role. I'm not sure if he's the right choice or not, but he's certainly an interesting one, if nothing else. -Thoughts?
Clint Eastwood directing, Leonardo DiCaprio starring, Dustin Lance Black writing, all under a biopic...this sounds like a submission for Bait an Oscar. And I'm in love with the idea.
Any project that Leo is attached to or thinking of immediately sparks my interest. He is one of the best working actors today, and still unappreciated in many regards.
This sounds like, along with "Hereafter", a certain return-to-form by Eastwood, whose last three films didn't entice me that much. "Changeling", in my opinion, was the best of that crop, but even that film was a big let-down.
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

ReplyDeleteIndeed.
ReplyDeleteIt has a load of potential...
Not necessarily excited by Leo doing this, but am excited the film is being made!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there are better choices out there (I liked Billy Crudup a lot in Public Enemies), but there are worse too.

He does tend to choose good projects, that Leo.
ReplyDeleteEastwood is much more hit and miss to me, though he gave me Million Dollar Baby, so I can never completely disregard him...
