I think The Thing is a solid choice for #1...
ReplyDeleteConsidering it's my favorite horror film ever made, I could agree with that.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it's hard to judge on this since I'm not sure whether to go with how good the films on the list are or how good the films are in comparison with the original.
I've seen the original Howard Hawks version of "The Thing", and John Carpenter's remake blows that one out of the water. However, I would say that "The Departed" is a better film -- yet I haven't seen "Infernal Affairs". So, to some extent, I'm at am impasse...
I think it's open to interpretation.
ReplyDeleteInfernal Affairs is a good movie, without a doubt...but The Departed is more entertaining.
It seems odd that The Man Who Knew Too Much gets to be that high when it was the same guy making both versions. I suppose I understand the sentiment, but...number 3?
