Have you guys noticed that Ken Watanabe is billed second? That seems kind of weird, we've seen essentially nothing of him in the promotional materials and no one's talking about him in the film. Nolan didn't use him at all in Batman Begins.
In regard to these images, this is what I told Myles in an IM as I was prepping them to post here:
The first image looks like a Bond casting call, the second looks like a classy version of The Matrix, the third is vaguely Shutter Island same with the 4th, 5 is just odd, but cool...and the 6th is just saliva inducing for those who dig on old school set.
Not to mention his performances have *hardly* been consistent, then again, I've never understood the vast and ardent fanbase of one of America's fussiest actors.
As much as I want to see Gordon-Levitt nominated for an Oscar (I would have nominated him for 500 Days of Summer, but someday I feel he'll win, people like him enough to want to reward him once that role comes along), I don't think his character in this one will meaty enough for a nomination... I would put more money on his role in Hesher, a lead role that looks dark and has more depth to it... But who knows everything is still hard to tell at this point.
While I the movie I'm going to really quick and comment on how I am still fuming over 500 Days of Summer's shut out at the Oscars
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

ReplyDeleteI love new pictures of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and the other stuff is pretty cool :)

ReplyDeleteHe's a decently important character to this flick, so fret not, there will be plenty of him to come...
ReplyDeleteGotta agree with Joey on first one :-) Can't wait for it to come out!
ReplyDeleteGood to know. Watanabe is a criminally underused actor. If he were a white man, he'd be one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today.
ReplyDeleteSardor- Yes sir.
ReplyDeleteRobert- Agreed.

same with the 4th, 5 is just odd, but cool...and the 6th is just saliva inducing for those who dig on old school set.
god just give leo is oscar already, no one is doing as consistent work as he is today
ReplyDeleteDoesn't strike me as his year, but we'll see...
ReplyDeleteNot to mention his performances have *hardly* been consistent, then again, I've never understood the vast and ardent fanbase of one of America's fussiest actors.
ReplyDeleteFair enough. He's usually very good, he just hasn't hit on a performance I'd give him the win for yet. But that's just me...

Agreed, it's a hard call...and as someone who might be 500 Days' #1 fan, I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't count on Hesher though...the reviews were pretty mixed...
