this is SOOOO much like Sissy Spacek in "In the Bedroom"... I´m just shocked people think she´s unstoppable when everything she´s won so far are critic´s awards...
The OSCAR race is between Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page (unfortunately). Julie Christie won´t win the academy award. She will win the globe (another critics award),
But I doubt she´ll win the SAG and I highly, highly doubt she will win the Oscar.
Away from Her was a really good movie, but not great. Christie simply just gave an amazing performance. Its hard to describe...she was her character completely. See it for yourself and you'll know what i'm saying
Go ELLEN PAGE. She should win, hands down. Runner up would be Cotillard. Christie was good but not that great, she wasn't even on the screen a whole lot, and when she was, she was nothing stellar. The votes for Christie are sentimental, in my opinion, maybe not all of them, but how else to you explain her winning so many precursors?
Hell yeah, Marion deserves this! Her performance in La vie en rose was the best performance of the year: male or female, lead or supporting. I have a feeling she is the frontrunner for SAG; other actors like Cate Blanchett, Ryan Gosling, Keira Knightley, and Forest Whitaker have praised her portrayal of Édith Piaf.
I dont think she deserves it. Cotillard does, but then again, she's foreign and in a foreign film. If the film was American, she would take it hands down.
If Marion Cotillard was american she would DEFINITELY win... just compare her to Reese Witherspoon in "Walk the Line" or Jamie Foxx in "Ray"... her´s is by far one of the best performances I have ever seen. Then again, awards so far have been critics awards... and I have a feeling actors may feel a different way than critics this year in the Best Actress race...
out of any actor/actress that has ever portrayed a singer, Marion Cotillard has beaten them all!!! She was absolutely unbelievable! I hope the Academy really really looks at it b/c that woman deserves to win the oscar. If any of the others beats her out for this I am gonna just be sick! she has earned that award and rightfully deserves it!
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

I think so! Because she isn't hot like Mirren so those old geezers in the Academy will go for someone younger...right?
ReplyDeleteI think she is unstoppable...maybe an upset by Ellen page, but I highly doubt it
ReplyDeleteMARION COTILLARD SHOULD WIN! I've seen both films and Marion is SO much better!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the movie, was it yet another ok film with a great performance or was the film itself good? Did anyone see it?

Marion is the one that deserves it.
Ellen Page is my pick, but i dont think she has too much of a shot

ReplyDeleteThere´s absolutely NO WAY Ellen Page deserves it more than Marion Cotillard.
ReplyDeleteCotillard was by far the BEST - not only of the year - but of the decade.
Marion diservers the oscar and she will win!
