...making it officially the most exciting project around...to me at least. Take a gander at this from The Hollywood Reporter:
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is coming on board Christopher Nolan's "Inception," the filmmaker's thriller for Warner Bros. that stars Leonardo DiCaprio.A veil of secrecy exists over loglines, though the project, which Nolan also wrote, is described as a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within "the architecture of the mind."It is known that Gordon-Levitt is taking the role to have been played by James Franco, who bowed out over scheduling issues. He would play an associate of DiCaprio's character, a CEO-type.Marion Cotillard is already on board as DiCaprio's wife, while Ellen Page is playing a grad student and DiCaprio's sidekick. Cillian Murphy is also in the cast. Nolan and the studio are aiming for a summer shoot ahead of a 2010 release.Nolan and Emma Thomas are producing through their Warners-based Syncopy Films shingle.Gordon-Levitt, repped by CAA, has a big summer lined up: He stars in "500 Days of Summer," the romantic comedy that earned much buzz in Sundance and is now set for a July 17 release by Fox Searchlight, and plays the villainous Cobra Commander in Paramount tentpole "G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," which opens Aug. 7.
-How can you not be excited about this?

If your favorite movie is Sex and the City, then I'm guessing you're not excited about this. No disrespect to STC fans.
ReplyDeleteHowever, with this caliber of acting, directing, and writing, it's tough not to be excited. Nolan has made gems with less star power and a lower budget. We've seen what he can do with more star power and a BIG budget. Hopefully this movie will remain in the same league as Memento and the Dark Knight (in terms of quality).
I'm sad that Franco had to drop, but I love JGL almost as much. So, I am very pleased with his casting. Leonardo DiCaprio is my favorite actor, which I have probably stated multiple times on these blogs, and Nolan is one of my top five "active" directors. Needless to say, but I am very excited for this!

best...cast...ever!
ReplyDeleteit's definitely something I'm looking forward to in a big way
ReplyDeleteOMFG! THIS IS RAPIDLY TURNING INTO LIKE THE PERFECT MOVIE LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic cast and although I love Franco and am sorry to see him out of the project, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is definitely a fabulous alternate choice. I loved him in The Lookout (great movie) and I think he's got so much potential.
ReplyDeleteI'm very psyched for this.
definitely Alison...The Lookout was on my top 10 2 years ago
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if it's the best cast ever, but it's certainly one of the best in the last few years.
ReplyDeleteI'm just glad Nolan is writing and directing. The acting makes the movie slightly more compelling, but the writing and directing will make the movie great.
Does anyone know who's editing the film? Lee Smith?
Looks like Lee Smith is editing this one too.
ReplyDeleteThis cast is getting pretty exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
