It definitely reminds me of The Brave One, and being a British film I think it's going to have a quality all of its own. I think this is a timely film. Down here in Australia we are seeing an increase in violence and assault, with almost weekly the reporting of the death of a person from some form of violence, usually fueld by alcohol and other drugs. While I don't condone fighting violence with violence, I think there can be no harm in a film like this. It might not change the way things are down here at the moment (maybe the state government might get tough on shit like this instead of being a nanny state) but it will ring true for a lot of people who sometimes feel bereft of justice.
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

ReplyDeleteIt's got a vibe that reminds me of flicks like Death Wish, Death Sentence, and The Brave One, but with an English flavor
ReplyDeleteYeah I like the gritty feel it has to it.
