Had to ask...

Let's be honest, who's going to go see Saw V this weekend? I'm definitely not making the same mistake twice, but I am sure some of you are prepared to make an event out of this disgusting, grossly popular(?) franchise. It will undoubtedly be the No. 1 grossing movie in America unless people are tired (let's hope) of this franchise. But, if Max Payne can win the box office, this one will too.

  1. Rather Saw V than High School Musical 3.

  3. I've heard that Jigsaw's latest torture trap in the new one is to force a victim's eyes open Clockwork Orange-style and force them to watch a back-to-back High School Musical marathon. ;)

About 48 hours ago, I had no interest in seeing this movie. I remember seeing the first one on DVD, kind of liking it, but never following up on the sequels. Well last night, my roommate hosted a marathon of the four movies. Eight hours later, my brain hurts, my stomach feels queasy, and I feel almost obligated to check out the new one just for some peace of mind.

  4. mhmm. Someone sounds a little opinionated. Is it lonely on that pedestal?

  5. I must confess, every year since the first one came out I go opening weekend to see SAW...what they do, they do very well, and as someone I know recently said, it's kind of a throwback to the 80's and 90's that we can get a horror franchise with legs

  6. I guess I do sound slightly opinionated. I'm not a huge fan of the franchise. More often than not, it's just way too much to handle in 2 hours. I've seen really good horror films in my day, and I feel like the Saw series is blatantly over the top. Perhaps that's what people appreciate about them. In any case, it's become a cultural phenomenon. So, I won't hate on those who partake in it.

    Enjoy!

  7. I have a feeling High School Musical is going to be #1 probably. Which kinda sucks. It's a lose lose.

  8. Is there a reason that the poster says "Saw IV" and not "Saw V"?

  9. No reason in particular. Figured any Saw poster would do the trick. Honestly, I hadn't noticed. Thanks for the correction.

  10. Honestly, I liked the third one much better than the second, but did not like the fourth so much. I think it would have done well to remain the trilogy, which fit nicely together. Why must Hollywood suck as much life out of the idea as they do? But I guess that is human nature - we're not so different from parasites are we?
