I really don't like this poster, mostly for the reason it looks like a horror flick. But, I have faith that any movie by Scorsese and DiCaprio will turn out to be great.
It is a dumb poster it leaves out the names of great actors and the movie title. How are people supposed to know what poster it is for unless the look real hard for the online website. And it looks horror. It is very disappointing.
I like it because it is different from what i had expected from a film like shutter island or a scorsese/dicaprio flick. Yes it is horror oriented but i found it good because it was a surprise for me. And it is only a teaser poster without the big names on it. Maybe its something new for Scorses to try...maybe.
Disagree, i think it's actually quite cool. Effective with the woman deliberately with her back to us conjours up intrigue for the plot, and doesnt distract you from that by printing big hollywood names on it. Also i think this film is supposed to be a horror in the same way Silence of the Lambs was. Being that its actually a psychological thriller, albeit with a case for arguement because of the subject matter. Kai
Can I qualify my comments by stating that it intrigues me, and I do not dislike it at all. As a Dicaprio/Scorcese film, if the themes in this poster, albeit a teaser poster, are an indication of the cold, clinical horror of Shutter Island, I am very intrigued and hanging out to see this film! My fear is that, as a teaser, and with many more to come before this film comes out, this poster may get me all excited over a theme that is not as prominent in the film. Case in point - the two different trailers for "Knowing", where one is starkly different with its theme of aliens or the unknown, than the other.
As we've seen from the wide range of reactions, it's a poster that's very open to interpretation. I don't dislike it at all, it's very different from what I was expecting. But even if it downright sucked, it would take a lot more than a bad poster to stop me from being super excited for this film.
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

Makes it look like a horror. Could it attract people under false pretenses or is the film going to have a horror edge?

It makes me think of the Grudge. Really creepy, but not what I would have expected.

I like it actually, even if it does look very horror-ish. Besides, it's just a teaser. It's not like it's the only poster we'll get.
