Judd Apatow's next film "Funny People gets a "Funny Trailer"

-I read the script and loved it, very different to what you expect from his other films...especially in terms of Rogen's character, which is essentially a dramatic role...I'm incredibly excited for this...how bout you guys and gals? FYC Judd Apatow for Original Screenplay?

  1. Hmm, not sure, I love Judd Apatow, but unless it gets good reviews, I probably will skip it.

Love Leslie Mann though! So hilarious in Knocked Up and 40 Year Old Virgin

  2. My only concern at this point is that this trailer shows quite a bit of the film. I hope all of the best parts haven't been exposed.

  3. In my opinion FYC Adam Sandler for Best Actor. I know it's an Apatow film and it's Sandler, but he looks amazing. Maybe it's me feeling some regret that he was left out for Reign Over Me, but it looks like he really shows his acting chops in this. The tortured life of a stand up comedian has long been an overlooked topic and from the trailer it looks as though Apatow explores this at least somewhat. It may be a pipe dream, but at least he'll probably get a Globe nom out of it.

  4. Looks very funny and entertaining. Am I growing a soft spot for Seth Rogen?

  5. Globe nod would be a good bet, the script gives both guys so much to do...and there's plenty the trailer leaves out, though they did give out a little more of the story than I would have...but it was a rather long script, so we're potentially looking at Apatow's longest flick yet

  6. I haven't read the script, so I don't know exactly how much is still to discover. Either way, this really does look like it will be Apatow's best (Knocked Up and Virgin were only okay to me). If anything, I'll see it just to see Eric Bana with his regular Australian accent.

  7. While I agree that it tells a bit much, it still shows just enough to get me excited. So refreshing to see Sandler in a role where he might actually have to work a little bit. And Rogen is always dependable. Count me in.
