Ellen Page Alert

Hey all... Joey here.... just wanted to drop a quick line that a new pre-Juno Ellen Page movie opened in a VERY limited release today. It's called The Tracey Fragments, and is one of those flicks that uses a multiple frame split-screen approach to tell its story. The film itself seemed to have gotten a panning, but Ellen Page is said to be a one woman show, so I wanted to mention it real fast in case there are other Page lovers like me out there.

Cheers!

  1. From what I've heard about this film, it's very experimental and not an easy one. It sounds really interesting though and I will be checking it out.

Ms. Page has a lot of talent and so far she's made very interesting choices in the roles she takes.

As everyone has heard by now she will also be taking on the role of the title heroine in a new adaptation of Jane Eyre. A period English film will be quite different from everything she's done. She certainly has the talent and I hope she's successful. The mannered performance (and way of speaking) that this will require will be a far cry from the snarky, smart-ass teen that she embodies so well. I wish her the best of luck. :)

  2. I think she can handle just about anything and until she proves me wrong, i'll be looking very foward to everything she does....and yes, this flick is about as experimental and odd as it gets...think Time Code, the Mike Figgis film

  3. I live in Canada right now, and in art-house theatres there is a film called "The Stone Angel." It is an adaptation of a respected Canadian novel by one of Canada's greatest writers, Margaret Laurence. The movie stars Ellen Burstyn, and Ellen Page in a smaller role. Is this playing anywhere in America?

  4. imdb lists the film as having a release date of July 11th, so Ellen Page will be going up in limited relase against Hellboy, Eddie Murphy, and Brendan Fraser
