After having seen this summer's WALL-E, I just fell in love with Peter Gabriel & Thomas Newman's original song "Down to Earth". Thus far, I cannot think of any other prominent film songs so this definitely has a chance. It definitely has a real shot at a Grammy and probably a Golden Globe, which is what scares me. Music Golden Globe nominees usually differ from their Oscar equivalents. Many recent winners at the Globes for score or song have not even been nominated for an Oscar, especially the wonderful song "Guaranteed" from INTO THE WILD.
What are your thoughts on these differences? Which awards show nominate better music candidates?!
