This trailer makes me so sad...that is not the mad hatter...its Johnny Depp playing the same role again...he's going to ruin it like he almost ruined Batman before Nolan saved it...
Okay - so I've been off on a search and found a vid I could look at. I know it's a teaser, but was disappointed it was so short. I can't say I'm in agreeance with the first two posts, I think Johnny looks and sounds great. I think he has a humour that not everybody gets - it's more left of centre than some, more subtle or ultimately disturbing. My greatest fear with this film is that Burton will do to it what he did to Charlie in his chocolate factory, which I found ultimately quite disappointing except for Depp's performance which was brilliant. I'm still a sucker for Martin Short as the Mad Hatter in the TV mini series a few years back.
I think it looks like great fun, and Johnny Depp looked great in what little bit there was. Alice In Wonderland is my favorite Disney movie, and I'm always up for a reinvisioning.
People need to get off trying to believe that Burton is going to make a pitch perfect remake that will compliment your childhood memories of the original film. He's always going to put his spin on things, and it may not be popular. As for me, I think it once again shows where his vision is going and how it's going to take a chance, and it looks interesting. But, as Joey said, we should wait for a longer trailer for a more developed opinion.
Interesting...I got a really bad vibe from the posters and photos that appeared a while ago, but the teaser changed that opinion. I think it actually looks pretty good. A lot of vision in it, which usually ends up being a fairly good thing.
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?
