i'll throw this out there....not a bad show...love was spread around nicely...personal preference would influence me being mildly dissapointed, but overall not too bad...last year was about on par....your thoughts?
I would have liked to have seen Julie Chrsitie win a second Oscar 42 years after the first. But major kudos to Cotillard. Her speech was clearly from the heart. Her fellow nominees looked very happy for her, especially Blanchett and Christe.
i dont get that caught up on awards any more. to me the only one that should count is the broadcast film critics awards. thats their job to separate good from bad. and they do. oscars isnt so much merit as it is popularity. most of the time. i read on ew site how some people chose their oscar picks, and it had nothing do do with merit.
I always knew Julie Christie would end up as another 'Sissy Spacek in In the Bedroom', who wins all the critics awards, but then loses at the Oscars.
I´m SO glad Marion won. IN my opinion, her performance ties with Meryl Streep´s in Sophie´s Choice. I consider them to be the 2 best female performances in film history.
And by the way... where are all of you who bragged and bragged that Julie Christie had it in her bag? I´d like to see your comments now! Marion WON. period!!!
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

ReplyDeleteIt was a little suspensful in the beginning when all the tech awards started going crazy.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone explain why Ruby Dee just sort of when flat and didn't win? It would have been awesome for her to win.
Because the clip for her nomination was like her entire role...
