He's 77, and the reason I do what I do here. For those of you who are curious, he spent the day watching Eyes Wide Shut on Blu-Ray and The Young Victoria on DVD. -Happy birthday Pop!

Happy Birthday to your Grandfather who seems to be very much a class act all around who has great taste in movies! What did he think of Young Victoria? I really liked it. As for Eyes Wide Shut . . . I'll never put myself through THAT again!
He loved Emily Blunt in the flick, but overall found it kind of boring...which is what I thought when I saw it back last year.
As for Eyes Wide Shut, I picked up the Blu-Ray because it was unedited, and I enjoy the film a lot. He'd seen it once before, but only from the projection booth when he was a Projectionist (which he did for about 30 years after being a construction worker and a plasterer, but before he became a Union Official for the Projectionists Union), so this was his real introduction to it, plus he has a Blu-Ray player and likes making use of it haha
I probably enjoyed The Young Victoria more because I have a thing about the history of the English monarchs, namely the queens. My problem with Eyes Wide Shut was there was far too much Tom Cruise and not nearly enough Nicole Kidman (and I don't mean nudity). lol
As for Elizabeth, I'm one of those people who think the film and Cate Blanchett should have gone home with Oscars, so that pretty much sums up what I think about that film! And I do appreciate Nicole Kidman's nudity - just probably not in the same way! lol
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?
