Hi all....just wondering what everyone what pick as their dream nominations for the Oscars this year. Either a film or a performance (or a screenplay or director...hell, in any category, it's a free country). Something that at this point and time seems destined to be ignored by the Academy and is something you feel very strong about.
These are some of my dream nominations, and hopefully i get to see at least a few of yours too:

Black Snake Moan
Gone Baby Gone
Knocked Up
The Lookout
Reign Over Me
Best Actor-
Christian Bale- Rescue Dawn
Joseph Gordon Levitt- The Lookout
Seth Rogen- Knocked Up
Mark Ruffalo- Reservation Road***
Adam Sandler- Reign Over Me
*** I know the movie is poor, and he should be in supporting, but i thought he was tremendous here and this is where he's being campaigned so it is what it is
Best Actress-
Halle Berry- Things We Lost in the Fire
Katherine Heigl- Knocked Up
Nicole Kidman- Margot at the Wedding
Christina Ricci- Black Snake Moan
Keri Russell- Waitress
you guys can give the supporting categories a shot if you want...but here ya go, have at it!

i would have included Into the Wild on my list (as it very well may end up as #1 on my year end best list) but i think it still has too good a shot to land in the "fantasy" side of my oscar brain lol if that makes any sense
ReplyDeleteIt makes perfect sense! As much as I loved it, I'm not sure how good a shot it still has, what will some other bigger contenders (Atonement or No Country For Old Men) getting all the limelight, but I hope it does well nonetheless.
ReplyDeletei think it has the best shot of anything that hasn't been mentioned every other second by the precursors, but it's still an on the cusp choice, and i also hope it does well, but we shall see
ReplyDeleteThis is only my list of films/actors etc.. that have very little to zero chance of getting nominated

nice list yourself, though i can defnitely see a bunch of your predictions turning out correct
ReplyDeleteThanks! The only prediction on my list that will probably definitely not happen will be Nicole Kidman's nominations (Margot at the Wedding and Golden Compass) and it is ashame because her performance is brilliant in both of those!
