  1. The nominations seem to be pretty in line with what most Chicago critics thought about the year (I live in Chicago). Lots of high praises to The Dark Knight and Wall-E, love for Jenkins and Rachel Getting Married, and one of the few places to give Synedoche, New York positive reviews.

    Also, since 2005, their pick for Best Picture has matched up exactly with the Oscars, ever since Crash. Will it be the same this year? It's a bold prediction, but I'm going to say this will be the one critic group to name TDK as Best Picture. That's my feeling.

  2. I would love for this to mean Bill Irwin is receiving serious consideration for Supporting Actor by the Academy (though I doubt it)
