Think About This Next Time You Talk During A Movie...

From a newspaper in Philadelphia:
A South Philadelphia man enraged because a father and son were talking during a Christmas showing of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button took care of the situation when he pulled a .380-caliber gun and shot the father, police said.
James Joseph Cialella Jr., 29, of the 1900 block of Hollywood Street is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and weapons violations.
"It's truly frightening when you see something like this evolve into such violence," said police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore.
Police were called to the Riverview Theatre in the 1400 block of Columbus Boulevard about 9:30 p.m. where the gunshot victim, a Philadelphia man who was not identified, told police a man sitting near him told his family to be quiet and threw popcorn at his son.
After exchanging words, Vanore said Cialella allegedly got out of his seat to confront the family when the father got up to protect them. That's when the victim was shot once in the left arm, sending others in the theatre running to safety.
Cialella then sat down to watch the movie. Police arrived a short time later and arrested Cialella and confiscated his weapon, Vanore said.
-Think about that...

I hate when people talk during movies, but shooting someone is a bit excessive. I want to say it was well deserved, but he probably should have just politely asked them to shut up or punch the kid in the mouth. All in all, it's still quite gangsta.

  5. LMAO. This brightened my day. The fact that anyone would shoot someone over talking in a movie is a bit ridiculous. The fact that he sat back down and continued to watch the film is priceless. But yeah, talking during a movie is absolutely one of the rudest things you can do.

  6. Violence is never the answer to any situation. Talking in a cinema or theatre is extraordinarily rude, but it does not warrant the use of weapons! Both parties had opportunities prior to the shooting to deal with the situation, as I see it. If there was someone in a cinema that became so angry at my talking (not that I would be talking) that he threw popcorn at me, I'd shut up for fear of what he might do next, or go make a complaint to management. Having said that, there was plenty of opportunity for the shooter to deal with the situation before he became so angry as to even throw food at the son of the victim. People need to be responsible for their emotions and, subsequently their responses. What was this man doing with a .380 in a movie cinema anyway? When are people going to realise they alone are responsible for their actions? Yes, there were people talking in the cinema, but what you do about it is your own responsibility, based on how you let the situation affect you. If you open fire with a gun you are seriously fucked up. And that IS my professional opinion!

PS. How ironic that the "word verification" for this post is "calmm".
