Daniel Craig hints that the 23rd Bond movie might start shooting late next year...

...if this article here is to be believed. We shall see, I suppose, since they don't even have a director in place yet. In any case, any news on this film is good news, to me at least.
-Who would you like to see directed the next James Bond flick?

  1. considering the Bond franchise doesn't usually want particularly stylish directors, it eliminates some interesting choices, but it's still an interesting question to ask...

  2. For some reason, I'm thinking Peter Weir would be an interesting choice. I think he does a good job at combining action and drama quite well and would be an interesting choice for this series.

  3. he'd be a good pick, maybe someone like Ed Zwick, Jonathan Mostow, or James Mangold as well

  4. Mostow's latest track record doesn't impress me so much, but Zwick and Mangold are excellent suggestions.

  5. I mention Mostow just because he never makes an awful film and he was also in the running for the last Bond film, among others like Alex Proyas

  6. I remember when there was a rumor that Danny Boyle was being offered a chance to direct a bond film.

Not exactly sure if he would be a good choice or not, but I'm positive he'd make an INTERESTING Bond flick.

  7. Problem is, they don't necessarily want an INTERESTING film, they want a Bond film...the producers hold all the cards...the director is simply the go-between

  8. I wonder what would happen if Hollywood allowed a curve-ball director...

Could you imagine a Bond film by Michel Gondry? Or The Coen Brothers?

I know Tarantino has expressed interest in doing a Bond film once.

  9. it would either do really well or really poorly, but the Broccoli family likely has no interest in it...they go low risk with the director's chair, and by and large, it works

  10. In all honesty after reading the posts...I think Weir would probably be the best choice anyone has posted.

A director who isn't over-the-top, yet directs with class. Right up Bond's alley.

Besides, he hasn't done anything in a while...
