  1. While this doesn't tell us much, it really is the start of the "awards season", so it's exciting times...

  2. Agreed. I'm glad to see Big Fan here, I really like Robert Siegel. Haven't seen the film yet, but I'm dying to.

  3. It will be interesting to see how The Hurt Locker measures up to A Serious Man in the indie awards circuit. The Coens tend to do pretty well there.

I too want to see Big Fan. I loved The Wrestler and thought it was completely overlooked in the awards for writing last year.

  4. I was just about to make the same comment David, but you beat me to it. Whoever wins between The Hurt Locker and A Serious Man should tell us quite a bit about The Hurt Locker's chances in awards season. It seems to be a film most people are forgetting about and a win over A Serious Man is very important for it staying relevant.

Although I hope A Serious Man wins because in my opinion it is the superior film. I didn't fall in love with The Hurt Locker like most people seemed to. I thought it was good, just not great.

I also find it odd that Ben Foster was nominated for breakthrough actor, when it has been at least two or three years since he broke out. But I guess any love for him is good love.
