Mickey Rourke to actually wrestle...really good or really bad idea?

Yes, Rourke is supposedly going to be performing at World Wrestling Entertainment's (ah, the good old days when it was simply the WWF) Wrestlemainia event. I put this to you, our faithful readers...thumbs up or thumbs down on this idea? And furthermore, will this news hurt his chances at an Oscar? Discuss!

  1. Bad idea. Didn't he already try boxing? Generally celeb wrestling cameos don't go over well. (See Mike Tyson, Jay Leno, Karl Malone, and Dennis Rodman). I don't think it will be as bad as the Eddie Murphy fiasco, but this type of publicity could hurt. Just think of Sean Penn trying to do gay porn, but not as bad.

  2. good point...perhaps it won't affect him too much as the Oscars will already be over, but if he does a wrestling promo with an Oscar in his hand, for example, it would be kind of odd

  3. Wrestling is scripted just like the choreography in the film...it would be almost no different in my opinion except live and on a bit bigger scale... plus Ric Flair is gonna train him. He's got til April to shape up. Should be awesome I think.
