Nine gets moved back again, to December...for now.

This may have been reported already (at least I thought I covered this a number of weeks ago) but Rope of Silicon is reporting this as breaking news, so check out the article here, but the gist is that 'Nine' is now first hitting New York and Los Angeles on December 18 before having a wide release on the 25th of that month.
-Call me crazy, but I just can't shake the feeling that the movie will end up being pushed to 2010, though I don't exactly think it would be a great move, though The Weinstein Company has taken odd risks like that before, so who knows...thoughts?

  1. I hope not, i've been waiting too long. If it did supporting actress would suddenly be wiiiiiiiide open.

  2. For the sake of variety, i'd almost like to see Nine and Invictus (the phantom movie) move to next year, and see where the race this year ends up going...

  3. Well at this point, with so much hype, we can safely say that if Nine does get pushed back, that'll really be saying something about the film's poor quality. With so many contenders dropping like flies, this really is a weak year to be having 10 nominees.

  4. I'd say it's more a weak year for the traditional nominees, but for comedies, smaller indie films, animation, and documentaries, I think they're doing their happy dance, as it were
