It definitely looks like it has quite a bit of potential, especially considering the plot details. However, I could easily see a film like this slipping into oblivion after a while...
It's weird I just can't see any traces of the brilliance of this film from the trailer but the reviews and festival success are astounding. Maybe it will have like ONE or TWO nominations like Frozen River (another gritty sundance grand jury prize winner). Who knows. I will see this as soon as I can however, very curious.
The trailer certainly got me intrigued but am pondering the question - does the trailer present the film as something it's not? The film looks raw and gritty, but the trailer's kind of done up like usual trailers. It's confusing. But I am liking what I see.
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

ReplyDeleteIndeed. We'll see...

ReplyDeleteMore or less agree.
ReplyDeleteI given it some thought, and I seriously don't think this trailer makes it look amazing (if it is) and honestly makes it look rather bland.
ReplyDeleteThe acting is where its possibilities lie, if I had to guess.

ReplyDeleteWe shall find out soon enough...
ReplyDeleteIt could easily get lost in the summer indie shuffle, but who knows?
