I could see Picture, Director, and Original Screenplay moving, but aside from that, the main categories are more or less set.
ReplyDeleteNope ... Streep-Actress and Basterds-Screenplay
ReplyDeleteWe shall see...It's between Basterds and Hurt Locker in a tight race, but I kind of agree with most now that Bullock has it wrapped up.
ReplyDeleteMy gut feeling is there won't be much difference between this list and the final winners on the day.

ReplyDeleteI think there's only ONE major thing that could change Bullock from winning. And that's the BAFTAs. Of the past couple of years there's always been one acting category change at last minute that the BAFTAs has always called. With the supportings both locked, it would not surprise me in the least if BAFTA give Carey Mulligan the Best Actress award and replace her back into the limelight just before Oscar time, ie Cotillard. If BAFTA go Streep, that too mixes it up. With Bullock NOT being nominated, someone else is going to get a boost RIGHT before Oscars.
ReplyDeleteMy Predictions
ReplyDeletePicture: Avatar (Alternate: Hurt Locker)
Director: Bigelow (Alternate: Tarantino)
Actor: Bridges (Alternate: Firth)
Actress: Bullock (Alternate: Mulligan)
Supporting Actor: Waltz (Alternate: Harrelson)
Supporting Actress: Mo'nique (Alternate: Farmiga)
Original Screenplay: Inglourious Basterds (Alternate: Hurt Locker)

We'll know soon enough...I like that there's potential for surprises.
