Watch some of this year's big performers talk about their favorite performances of the decade!

Behold:

-Some very interesting choices...thoughts?

  1. They didn't include many of my favorite performances of the decade, but most of their selections are solid. Everyone's opinion is valid, however.

  2. Hahahaha. Jeff Bridges is such an endearing guy. I feel like I'm watching the dude, whenever I see him interviewed.

Talk about an "out of left field" pick, though. Mike White wouldn't have even come to mind at all when I was thinking who I would choose. It is a great performance, but he'll always be the writer of School of Rock in my heart (Well, that and his awesome season of Amazing Race).

  3. Indeed, though my favorite Mike White script is The Good Girl, and I dug his quick cameo in Zombieland...

  4. True. Both are excellent...

btw: You read Kick-Ass yet? I'm curious if you enjoyed it as much as I did. A couple other I would recommend are The Repossession Mambo (Repo Man) and McQuarrie's Stanford Prison Experiment. Both great.

  5. Indeed.

I have not yet, but it's high up in my pile (sandwiched between Buried and The Social Experiment, though I'm tempted to read Inside Man 2 just to be ahead of the game). As for Repo Men and The Stanford Prison Experiment, I don't have either (my script guy hasn't been getting much for me of late), but I'll keep my eyes out for them.

  6. I'm happy to e-mail them to you if you want. I have most of this year's black list and most the high profile spring stuff if you want anything specific.

  7. My hero sir.

My email is joeymagz@aol.com (I plaster it all over the site, so it's no secret). If you want, send me a list of what you have, and I'll let you know if I have anything you don't in case you'd like some compensation. I'll more or less read anything, though I only do script reviews for higher profile flicks, but anything and everything is appreciated.

  8. Cool. I'll shoot you a list later tonight.

  9. I knew before watching this that no one would pick the actual (or, at least, very close) number 1 performance of the decade (which is my favorite performance ever), they just picked personal stuff. Which is okay, but a nice aside about the best would've been nice: Well obviously, it's ____, but my personal favorite is...

  10. Okay, I'll bite. What would be yours?

  11. Also, I mistakenly said The Social Experiment...it's The Social Network. Apologies.

  12. By the by Aaron, I just finished Buried and it was fairly good. Nothing amazing, but should be a solid film later in the year if Ryan Reynolds turns in a good performance.

  13. I actually just finished The Social Network and I really loved it. Classic West-Wing style writing, especially in its surprising humor and ultra-witty script. I think it'll be a solid awards contender next season.

And hopefully Aaron Sorkin, IMO an extremely overdue writer, will at least get his first Oscar nomination.

  14. My pick would've been Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood.

  15. The Social Network is up next, right after Kick-Ass...
