'The Lovely Bones' gets a full Trailer!

Here you go ladies and gents, though the annoying EW voice-overs are unfortunately still in effect (head over to Apple's trailer page for an ideal version):

-What are you all thinking...is this locked up as a Best Picture nominee? (Honestly, I didn't love the trailer, but more on that at a later date)

  1. I can't wait for the trailer...I can't believe that that's actually Stanley Tucci...

  2. It'd be nice to see this without that horrible voice-over (the "beyond the grave" delivery is really tasteless). Otherwise, this looks like a contender to certainly watch out for.

  3. I wasn't in love with some of the dialogue, but visually it looks very good

  5. I have to say it look VERY good. It’s different from anything done and that’s a huge plus. Saoirse Ronan looks good as the lead actress and Whalberg, Sarandon and Weisz look promising too portraying her family.
And, of course, Stanley Tucci’s turn into a killer is very attractive and Oscar voters will notice.

What else will it run for ? Director of course, as well as Picture. Jackson has done a fantasy/drama film again and it may be as good as LOTR.

Cinematography, Visual Effects, Sound categories, editing and even costume design, could get guilds and circles attention to this very interesting film.

An Education, Up, Avatar, Bright Star, The Lovely Bones, Precious,.. This season keeps getting better

  7. Looks fan-friggen-tastic.

It’s an amazing book and the movie has a TON of potential. I couldn’t think of a better director than Jackson.

The Wahlberg-casting aside, it’s perfectly set up; although there is a TON of pressure on Susie’s younger sister – Lindsey (played by a relative unknown, Rose McIver) – to excel in a brutally tough role.

Nevertheless, behind the Hurt Locker, this is my most anticipated film of the year.

    Can’t wait…

  8. The Apple trailer, the one I watched, is much much better.

While I know the story, I feel it is following the book well (as much as a trailer can say) and not too too much is given away...yet.

  9. I loved the trailer think it looks fantastic, I have a feeling Michael Imperioli will be give an amazing performance that sadly no one will talk about because of Tucci much like Eckhart in The Dark Knight last year, wish we'd seen a little more from Tucci and the cliche trailer music at the end didn't really work for me but I still think it looks great.

  10. I think this looks absolutely fantastic! I was so anxious about how he was going to pull it off, but I think he's done something quite visionary. Lock it in as a Best Picture, Director, Cinematography, Art Direction-Set Decoration, and Visual Effects.

  11. The full trailer is on Apple.com and on lovelybones.com! I read the book years ago and LOVED it...i'm nervous to see what the outcome of adapting this book into film is going to look like in the end especially since most of it takes place in "heaven." I didn't love the trailer, but it looks like it'll be solid and a decent movie. Can't wait to see.

  12. Oh my gosh!

It's going to be incredible! I knew Jackson could pull of the visuals! Terrific trailer--so intense.

And I'm pretty certain now that Weisz, Tucci, and Ronan will all get nods in the acting categories.

  13. A little off, but why does Peter Jackson look so sad in his Apple intro? I think I liked him better when he was overweight and fun.

  14. I think the lack of frivolity is rather more due to the fact that he is a shy and unassuming man in front of a camera, not because of a lack of weight.

  15. So I saw the trailer here, and thought "nah maybe not". Went to the apple site to see it, and went "ohh, that's more like.. oh.. wow!".

  16. Holy Hell...that looks amazing. Those visuals...so beautiful, yet weird and crazy. Loved the Super mario galaxy planet running and the lifesize ship in a bottle. Ronan and Tucci look beyond good. ANd Wahlberg looks better than i thought he would.
