Take a look (and excuse the weird foreign subtitles on the bottom) below:
-This looks a lot like 'About Schmidt', but that worked for Jack Nicholson, so we shall see...thoughts?

if nothing else, the cast is pretty solid
ReplyDeleteYeah, definitely a great cast. The voice over was terrible, but that has nothing to do with the movie itself.
ReplyDeleteThe acting looks great and it's refreshing to see De Niro in a film that has some promise. He obviously doesn't need another nomination, but I would love to see him get recognized this late in his career because he's truly a fantastic actor and it would be great for him to be good in something this late in his career.
I'm not sure if it's the trailer, but I personally think that this film looks extremely fine, meaning that it looks neither bad nor good.
ReplyDeleteYes, it has a great cast, and yes, De Niro is one of the best screen actors to have ever walked the planet, and he does look good in the film.
Having said that, it looks like this role isn't too much of a stretch for an actor of his capability, and if he really wanted to make a return to form, he should choose much more challenging work.
fair points
