  1. Okay, now I'm convinced a Michael Clayton nom could happen.

  2. Yeah me too, and I am glad to see Juno here too.
No Country is a lock, wish TWBB was a lock, it is almost there, The Diving Bell is in for me too, thought Into The Wild or Atonement may make it onto this list, but remained doubtful, and look how it turned out. But overall I am happy with the nominees.

  3. if sweeney got nominated for BP (which is very doubtful), it definitely doesn't stand a chance now at winning...too bad, poor thing...

  4. I'd say No Country, TWBB, Michael Clayton, and Diving Bell are in. The last slot is between Into The Wild and Juno, with outside chances for Atonement and Sweeney. But hey, we've still got a week before we get to find out, so you never know.

  5. The PGA's don't always line up with the Oscar nominees 5/5. Usually they're 4/5. Dreamgirls was nominated for the PGA but not the Oscar. Clint's film took its spot there.

This is such a crazy year it wouldn't surprise me if they missed two.

  6. I still have a feeling Sweeney Todd will make the best picture shortlist.

  7. Since this is the Producers Guild Awards... big day for Mirimax, huh? 3 out of 5 for one company. I guess they're doing great without the Weinstein's these days.

there will be blood deserves a nod. a little disappointed about eastern promises...but that's just false hope.

  11. We all know that No Country is a lock.
There Will Be Blood is looking pretty probably at this rate, with a lot of precursoror recognition.
Michael Clayton, at least to me, seems like it's looking good for a nomination at this rate, having respect from the PGA, DGA, and WGA (I think).
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly would be a dream come true, and it just might, even though it's a foreign film, which sets it back a lot.
I'm skeptical about Juno's chances though. I think that Into the Wild will take it's spot. It has recognition from every other guild, a good deal of other awards, Sean Penn... enough said with that.

Atonement and Sweeny Todd's snubbs don't surprise me. Atonement did not fare as well as it could've with the critics, or other awards, and Sweeny Todd had too many directorial flaws to be considered for a best picture nod.
