  1. I just saw Juno last night...and while it was a fantastic movie, certainly deserving of the Best Picture win, I think Sweeney Todd has it all wrapped up. Great performances, great production value, and it's a musical, no less. Only problem with it is it's getting a lack of love from the precursors. So, I match your picks, but switch Sweeney and Juno for Winner and Alternate for Best Picture- Musical/Comedy.

  2. I prefer Marion Cotillard for the victory that Ellen PAge...

  3. for heavens sake!!!

    Marion Cotillard for Best Actress!
Sure Ellen Page is cute and a juicy tart, but comparing her performance to Cotillard´s is at least a travesty! Ellen Page may even win - as I don´t even expect Cotillard to win the Academy Award - but then again, everyone knows how "out of control" the academy may be- Roberto Begnini, Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow...

  8. Go Marion Cotillard!

Even if you don´t win the Golden Globe, SAG or Oscar, your performance was for sure THE YEAR´S BEST!!!

  9. I have to agree with eternalhorizon05, I think Sweeney is (sadly) going to be this year's Dreamgirls; winning the best picture glob but not being nominated for the best pic oscar, though I hope it does get nominated. Juno could win, but Sweeney Todd, like all other Burton filsm, is loved more internationally than in America, which bodes well for an award handed out by the Hollywood FOREIGN Press Association. Then again, they may just reward Sweeney with a best actor for Johnny, which would still be quite an honor, as the HFPAs are dying to finally give him an award.

  11. spoiler is kind of unnecessary.

all the unlikely winners have a chance to "spoil" the party. it's pretty much assumed right? but as long as DD, javier, coens, and no country wins, im happy.

  12. Marion Cotillard's performance was superior to Ellen Page's. God, I hate Juno.

  13. If HBC wins C/M actress, look for Sweeney to sweep. Same goes for Burton if he wins director (except HBC would have already lost). If Depp loses then Sweeney will go home empty handed.
