Hi all...tis Joey, as usual...time for some last minute panicking before you see if your favorite flicks make the cut or not
So I propose that now we all make our personal FYC ads.....what do you have your fingers especially crossed for?
I'm crossin fingers and toes for....
- Into the Wild in general, though a special mention for Emile Hirsch, the movie itself, Hal Holbrook, and the songs from the flick. God I love Eddie Vedder's soundtrack
- Juno for best pic and Ellen Page for best actress
- Songs from Once
how bout you guys?
Good luck to your films tomorrow morning as well!
I loved The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. So, my fingers and toes are crossed for it to get nominations in BP, Director and Adapted Screenplay. And I would be exceptionally happy if Max von Sydow got a well-deserved supporting nomination. And, more of a long-shot, I'd be ecstatic if the wonderful Mathieu Amalric got nominated. The most expressive left eye in cinematic history.

ReplyDeleteah, so much i would like to see happen...
ReplyDeleteinto the wild - best picture, director, hirsch, holbrook!!!, keener, screenplay, etc.
lars and the real girl - screenplay and gosling, and the fabulous emily mortimer...okay now i'm just getting greedy
no country - besides the obvious, hopefully a nod for tommy lee jones and kelly macdonald
knocked up - screenplay
jennifer garner
i'd like to see everything you mentioned occur!
ReplyDeletethere will be blood (score)
ReplyDeleteand dano for best supporting
anyway sam riley can get a best acting nod? probably not right.
i liked garner in juno
NCfOM (tlj for best supporting)and everything else it deserves.
i would love to see 3:10 get some love...but thats wishful thinking.
dano, reilly, and 3:10 are rather longshots...and the score to blood is ineligible unfortunately...along with the score to into the wild (blast) and enchanted
ReplyDeleteOnly thing I'd like to see with no chance is some love to Sweeney Todd co-stars Alan Rickman and Ed Sanders. Unfortunatly, no one who matters when it comes to these things does.
ReplyDeleteI know. it was more wishful thinking.
ReplyDeleterealistically, I just want NCfOM and TWBB to receive everything they are expected to receive.
Joey, you already mentioned my top hopefuls; Into the Wild, Juno, Ellen Page, and Falling Slowly. I would also want Paul Dano to score a nomination, I haven't seen TWBB yet (not playing in Lubbock yet), but I do like the guy as an actor and from the trailer he looks good in the film.
ReplyDeletePaul Dano is the only one I'm REALLY crossing fingers for, with Jenifer Garner a close second.
ReplyDeleteMARION COTILLARD FOR BEST ACTRESS!!!
ReplyDeleteamy adams for enchanted!
ReplyDeleteI KNEW IT!!!! WHAT DID I SAY!!!
ReplyDeleteANGELINA JOLIE GOT SNUBBED!!!
WONDERFUL!!!!!
Are these right?

if so...hooray for laura linney! tlj in in the valley of elah...came out of no where. into the wild got nothing.
correction...hal got a well deserved best supporting nod.
ReplyDeletethere was a shit load of love for No Country, TWBB, and Michael Clayton. 3 of my favorites for this yr! and I'm happy Linney got some love.
