-Nothing too surprising...thoughts?
I really like the "Best Film that has yet to open in Iowa" Award...well played Iowa, well played.
ReplyDeleteha. Me too!
ReplyDeleteThe Hurt Locker trully is a great film, but it didn't click with me, so I still hope for an Up In The Air sweep at the oscars and the latest precursors seem to give it a lot of BP awards. I'm so excited for the GGs. The race could get really interesting sunday night, so many calculations but only one outcome.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it's a close race, and perhaps the first 4 way race in memory...
ReplyDeleteJoey, I agree that it's fantastic to see so many of the main prizes still up for grabs and not a foregone conclusion.
ReplyDeleteArguably Picture and Director are between Up In The Air, Hurt Locker and Avatar.
It wouldn't be a surprise if any of Clooney, Bridges, Freeman or Firth won Best Actor, Mulligan, Streep or Sidibe for Best Actress or any one of Mo'Nique or the two Up In The Air supporting actresses for Supp. Actress. Only Christoph Waltz is looking fairly nailed on.
Over the past few years, particularly for the acting awards, the Oscars has felt like a coronation rather than a contest.
Very nicely put. Great analogy, I plan to use that one myself the next time I get a chance.
ReplyDeleteYay ! Up in the air! I hope this repeats again and again.
ReplyDeleteGroovymule, the races are not quite that open, but I agree how great it is...
ReplyDeleteRobbie, consider it yours...
FenixPahedi We shall see...
