From what I've read of the comic, they really don't have the tone right at all. I mean, I agree, the film does look fun. But the point is that it really could have made an incredible film if they stuck closer to the original source material. It's not a matter of plot (although I can't completely say, since I still need to read four more issues), it's really all a matter of the way the film looks and feels, along with the style of most of the performances (with the exception of Hit-Girl) which I kinda turning me off.
Now that trailer makes me wanna see this film! It's funny, it's cute, it's kind of sexy, and it's telling me, whose never heard of/read the comic, what the story's about (even if it differs from the original source material).
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

ReplyDeleteIt occurs to me that Nicolas Cage is far easier to take seriously when half of his face is obscured.
ReplyDeleteAlso, did not know that Mark Strong was playing the villain. Now I'm that much more excited for this to come out.
I've got the script and will be reading it in the coming days, so I'll have a better idea what the complete tone of the film is...
ReplyDeleteCould you send me the script Joey? I'm curious as to some of the changes and I'd really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteI just need to make sure there's no restrictions on it in terms of sharing, but sure...
ReplyDeleteAlright great, thanks. If you find out that its all good...

I'll know shortly...I got a bunch from this person, so I just need to make sure they weren't risking anything by passing them off to me
