The concept is dumb, but the execution looks like a whole lot of fun, to me at least. Edgar Wright hasn't let me down yet (including Spaced), though Hot Fuzz didn't thrill me as much as some. Regardless, when it comes out we'll find out if I'm nuts or not...
I'm with Joey here, I think this thing looks amazing. Admittedly, I've never read the comic (manga? anime? whatever), but I do know that I love everything Edgar Wright has done so far, and he looks to be continuously upping his game here. I'm on board.
From the trailer it looks like one of those movies that some people will love and others will hate. I really think I'm gonna be on the side that loves it.
Im with the ones whos says this look like a dumb stuff, and trust me I wanted this film to like me, the poster was CooL, but the trailer disappointed me!I was expecting totally other thing...
I could barely understand anything that was going on the first time I watched it. I appreciate what the trailer was trying to do, but it just felt way too fast and unfocused to effectively achieve its goal. The font was too hard to read for how long it was on the screen (I only understood it because I knew who was directing it beforehand). It's like if trailers were people, this trailer had a severe case of ADD.
But I hold out hope for this film, because I'm a huge fan of pretty much everything that Edgar Wright has done. Bring it on.
Who would you like to see be the main villain in the next Batman film?

Holy crap does that look amazing...plain and simple.
ReplyDeleteuh ... or garbage
ReplyDeleteI disagree (and the test screenings have been through the roof), but you're entitled to your opinion...
ReplyDeleteMy friend tried to turn me on to the comic and ill give the film a shot...but I really just think the concept is kind of dumb...

ReplyDeleteLooks like some good dumb fun, it'll either be hilarious or horrible.
ReplyDeleteIronically, this is the first of anyone not saying it's awesome, but that's to be expected I suppose when a trailer hits...

ReplyDeleteIndeed, and someone liked what he did here, considering that recently he was in discussions for Mission: Impossible IV.
ReplyDeletelooks amazing

ReplyDeleteAgreed Wild Things...
ReplyDeleteAnd yes Matt, it seems to be divisive.
ReplyDeleteAt first I was like What?! but i think it looks epic. Seeing Anna Kendrick threw me off there!
ReplyDeleteYup yup
ReplyDeleteOne word. Epic. I have never reacted this strongly to a trailer before. Oh my God.
ReplyDeleteI know that's more than one word, but wow.
Even though you agree that the concept is kind of dumb, Joey, I feel that the interpretation looks just as dumb and overdone as the concept itself.

ReplyDeleteHuh, I must be in the minority.
