  2. 19/24
Missed Adapted Screenplay, the 3 shorts, and Sound Editing.
I'm a huge fan of The Hurt Locker, and definitely not a huge fan of Avatar, but THL receiving both sound wins over Avatar did not seem justified.

  3. Considering how amazing it was, it's depressing how up in the air didn't win anything...

  4. And yes, I feel bad for Up in the Air, my favorite film of the year...

  5. everyone should remember what Forest Whitaker said about Sandra Bullock----"It was all in her eyes," he said.

This is so true for "The Blind Side"----her performance caught my attention during the quiet moments.

  6. I'm so happy for Kathryn Bigelow. I can entertain arguments that The Hurt Locker didn't necessarily deserve Sound Editing, or even Original Screenplay, but the historic award for directing was well-deserved!

  7. Up in the air has a better adapted screenplay than Precious, and the oscar doesn´t change this fact.

  8. " all 8 major awards were won by first-time nominees."

Umm... This was Jeff Bridge's fifth nomination.

  12. Of course, no worries.

I'm pretty sure none of the other 7 top winners don't have previous noms, which is still very interesting.

  13. Sorry, another slight problem with your update...

As much as both you and I wanted Jason Reitman to win, he didn't.

  14. That was a typo, it didn't get updated right...gone now.

  15. The blog was a little glitchy from all the traffic, so it's been not taking my updates all the time today...the price of temporary popularity.

  16. Hahah! I am so thrilled what they did with the Best Original Score category. For the longest time I always said it would've been a wonderful idea to showcase the scores more than they usually do, and whaddya know, this year they did! I was very pleased.

Congrats to Michael Giacchino. Hopefully someday I'll be up there to accept a Best Original Score oscar...someday...someday...

  18. I don't know what to say, didn't post anything for a day, Hurt Locker and Precious for screenplay instead Basterds and Up In The Air and them two being the best of this year- a lot to argue about :-( And Hurt Locker for both sound categories, really? At least the acting and score categories made me happy :-)
