What are Richard Roeper's top 10 films of 2009?

Glad you asked, as these happen to be the 10 he digs the most (go here for his descriptions and reasoning):

1. Brothers
2. Up in the Air
3. The Hurt Locker
4. (500) Days of Summer
5. Inglourious Basterds
6. Up
7. Avatar
8. Adventureland
9. An Education
10. The Informant!

-Thoughts on his list?

  1. Brothers as best film of the year? To each his own I guess.

  2. I liked the film just fine, but he (and a few other critics) have really championed it.

  3. I really thought Brothers was excellent, if not phenomenal, but it belongs on no top 10 of mine... ever... I guess I could see it as a 5-10 if someone really loved it but 1? Still a great film though in my opinion. I wish they didn't ruin the ending with that first trailer

  4. yeah agreed. As you know, I'm championing Bailee. But other than that, the film is good, but not amazing. Don't see it belonging on anyone's top 10 IMO
