annes seems more like a personal list while travers(my favorite critic) seems more like an oscar tailored list(especially seeing as the only 4 star reviews hes given this year were for UP and Where the Wild things Are so why arent they the top 2?)
ReplyDeleteindeed, that's a bit odd, but it happens...I personally try to keep a running order going throughout the year so I have an idea where things stand, but that's just me...
ReplyDeletereally really disappointed that travers put wtwta at 6. but i'm also happy he included the messenger
ReplyDeleteFair enough...though don't be mad at me if I have Wild Things at 6...(it's higher than that right now, but I've still got about a dozen potential laden films to see this month)
ReplyDeleteMaybe he's seen it again since his initial review or has changed his mind a bit the more he thinks about it.
ReplyDeleteI for one had Taken as one of my favorite films. Then I rented it. It's fun, and bad ass, but was ultimately more of a pleasant surprise than the masterpiece I thought it originally was :)
Travers list is pretty snoozy. Love Anne's list, and from what i've seen i think mine will be very similar
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a possibility Dave...
ReplyDeleteand Andrew..."snoozy"?
ReplyDeleteJust didn't have any out of nowhere picks that I was hoping for barring (somewhat) WTWTA. I agree with most of his choices, i'm not denying their quality. I was just expecting a more abstract list I guess. Like in Anne's, Red Cliff was a really out of nowhere pick if you ask me, that's what I was expecting in Travers.
