Surprised? I know I was. Please share your reaction in the comments.

  1. YESSSSS, FINALLY! Though there must be some real geeks voting non-stop to keep films like WTWTA and A Serious Man alive, thats effed up.

  2. I'm tempted to start doing that for Up in the Air since it made the bottom three.

  3. MichaelQ: try to be respectful and not call people geeks. I wouldn't dismiss the idea that those films are popular amongst many readers. It's not necessarily the few, it could be the silent majority. I don't vote, since it would be a conflict of interest, but if I did, one of my votes would be for Wild Things...

Brycehartvigsen: that's your prerogative to do, though like I mentioned above, I would hope everyone would avoid ballot stuffing...

  4. Can't say I'm disappointed. It's a great movie, but WAY overrated. I mean, best picture? I think not.

  5. I agree Aaron. It's in my top 20 for the year, and it's one of the few movies I've seen more than twice this year, but I can come up with a dozen more worthy films to win Best Picture, though only a few of them are realistic.

  6. I'm surprised Precious and Up outlasted Avatar. I'm pleasantly surprised that my favorite three (Inglourious Basterds, A Serious Man, Up iN The Air) are still in the running. This is great fun.

  8. Not to undermine Joey, but ballot stuffing is perfectly acceptable in Academy Idol.

In ACCA Voting, I would completely understand Joey's view, but just like in American Idol when they receive 55 million votes, does that mean 55 million people voted? Doubtful. This week we received over 30,000 votes, not likely 30,000 people.

Keep at it folks. Vote for your favorites as much as you can to ensure their safety.

  9. Damn you boss! Just kidding.

I worded my phrase wrong. I guess I just was talking more about if someone were to vote abnormally largely for one film, though that's perfectly within the rules...
