-Thoughts on how these turned out?

  1. The Hangover for Best Original Screenplay is interesting. Should we start considering it a legitimate contender for the original s/p award?

  2. What a horrible list of Best Supporting Actors. Discounting Christoph Waltz, who was a shoo-in anyway, and Christian McKay, Alfred Molina's performance in An Education was a slice of overcooked ham, Stanley Tucci was recognized for the wrong performance, and Alec Baldwin was unremarkable.

Do these awards voters just have tunnel vision when they watch The Hurt Locker? How could they keep nominating Jeremy Renner while ignoring Anthony Mackie?

I guess these nominations also mean the death of Bright Star, Where the Wild Things Are, and Sam Rockwell.

  3. Wow....that's a hard blow for Abbie Cornish. Here I thought she'd at least get recognition from the BAFTA academy.

Anyway, Joey do you really think Blunt instead of Cornish will take Mirren's place as the wildcard nominee?

Or rather, who do you think is better fit?

  5. I guess this question is best directed at Clayton, since he did the predictions...

But I'd like to hear your thoughts too Mr. Magidson.

  8. I agree with Robert about the tunnel vision when it comes to the Hurt Locker. Anthony Mackie was as equally great as Jeremy Renner and deserves a nomination just as much

  9. I wouldn't count him out just yet, but I agree that Mackie is deserving.
