  1. This wasn't especially surprising, but the tie/citation of Paul Schneider was very cool for me to see...

  2. Glad to see Schneider as well. He's #2 in my "rooting interests" behind Mackie.

Hurt Locker was this year's best film. It deserves such praise.

  3. I'd love to see him get in, but it's a long shot...

  4. The Hurt Locker is doing really well, but it's still I think trailing behind Up in the Air and Avatar (and potentially Inglourious Basterds) for best pic, but those are the 4 likeliest winners I think...

  6. We shall see, I just think it's incredibly up the Academy's alley, but I'm just happy that it's a wide open race for the first time in years...

  7. I just hope THL doesnt get the oscar for best picture. That would really sad.

  8. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I'm pretty sure if The Hurt Locker won Best Picture, the general critical consensus would be rather positive.

  9. The Hurt Locker is doing what No Country for Old Men did two years ago. We'll have to wait on the guilds to really have a truly solid idea about where it stands (though even they couldn't predict a TDK snub after multiple guild mentions last year). But The Hurt Locker, for my money, is the current frontrunner, with only Avatar being the one that can beat it at this point. If Up in the Air has one thing going against it, it's that it's kind of light compared to The Hurt Locker or even Avatar.

However, it's very exciting to see it be a really unpredictable race this year.

  10. Having it be in limbo is very exciting, indeed.
