I was pleased to see (500) Days of Summer win something, for a change...
ReplyDeleteSeconded.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike sir.
ReplyDeleteWhy does everybody love precious?
ReplyDeleteWell, I certainly don't love Precious, but I agree with the majority of people that think the acting is very strong.
ReplyDeleteSome people love Precious for the same reason that others love The Hurt Locker, Up in the Air, Inglourious Basterds, and dozens of others: they respond to what's on screen and think it's effective despite some of the flaws. I loved the film, and many didn't, but I could also see the opposite effect with many other films that others love and I didn't. It's just a matter of taste.
ReplyDeleteWell said.
ReplyDeleteYea "(500) Days of Summer" and Roger Deakins!!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed...
ReplyDeleteVery glad to see (500) Days of Summer and Anvil! walk away with something. I feel like these two phenomenal films got overlooked this season.
ReplyDeleteVery much agreed. I really loved (500) Days of Summer, and I would without question put it among 2009's best films. It's really too bad it didn't fair well at the oscars.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
ReplyDeleteShit.
ReplyDeleteThere goes my 'brilliant' Firth Oscar upset prediction. I'm still sticking with it out of desperation, but if he can't even win the Indy Spirit, then I guess it isn't his time.
btw, I can't be the only one that thought 500 Days of Summer was pretentious hipster drivel, can i?
Well, I'm sure you're not alone, but you're likely in the minority...
